Sacred Ritual~

YOUR STORY~
I was born in Poland and I first learned about the herbs from my great grandmother. Folk herbalism is really common in Poland and my grandmothers used it alongside western medicine to heal their families and stay healthy. I found herbalism again in my twenties after getting really burnt out and sick as a young architect. Rediscovering the healing power of herbs restored my health and a reconnection to something wild, deep and vital. I have spent the majority of my life teaching herbalism and running a school and online community. It’s a place where people can reconnect to themselves and the Earth through folk herbalism, seasonal living and regenerative earth care.
Sacred Ritual is rooted in the simple belief that nature holds the ultimate remedy for skin recovery. My journey with Sacred Rituel began with a simple mission: to heal my sun damaged skin. Drawing on my background in herbalism, Although I understood which plants could effectively repair sun damage and scars, the beauty market offered no products that truly harnessed their full potential. I decided to craft the oils myself. What began as a small-batch apothecary quickly gained a devoted following among the local women experiencing profound results- inspiring the creation of Sacred Ritual so our community would never be without these magical formulas.

THE BRAND STORY~ Ingredients. Mission & Values
One of my aspirations for Sacred Rituel was to help people receive healing from Earth’s most powerful and natural plants, in a way that allows for reciprocity-where our products actually help heal the skin of Mother Earth as well, which is her soil. To do this well, we put a lot of care into how we source the ingredients, buying herbs and cold pressed oils from certified organic and regenerative farmers.
The quality of our food, herbs and beauty products is dependent on the richness of the soil. Over the past half-century, modern agricultural practices like monocropping and heavy fertilizer use have severely depleted our topsoil and mineral nutrients. Fortunately, we can change the story by partnering with local organic and regenerative farmers. Their dedicated practices don’t just restore the soil-they grow deeply nourishing plants and foster thriving healthy ecosystems.  One of our favorite organic regenerative farmers created Oshala Herb Farm, they grow the lavender, calendula, chamomile and comfrey herbs that we infuse into our oils. Using these high quality herbs means that our formulas deliver a potent blend of antioxidants, vitamins, essential fatty acids, minerals and other vital nutrients. Drenching the skin in potent antioxidants and nutrients gives it the ultimate nourishment to heal, renew, regenerate and unlock a healthy vibrant glow ~
Amidst a market full of empty promises, greenwashing on labels, and packaging waste, we wanted to do things differently.  Making products and sharing the story of the plants comes with a feeling of deep responsibility and integrity. As an herbalist, teacher and steward of the Earth, there is nothing I want more than to live in a way that will ensure that my and all future grandchildren will be able to swim in clean rivers, have access to pure drinking water, healthy soils and forests to wander. Unfortunately, modern consumer culture is built on an endless cycle of overproduction. I recently read that there are already enough clothes in existence for the next six generations. As humans, we have not figured out how to live sustainably, in a way that ensures a healthy world for future generations. I wanted to create a brand that was not just sustainable but that helped others be part of the regenerative revolution. As the word implies "sustainable" means to sustain, to keep things the same. To regenerate means to heal and replenish. That is a lofty goal for any modern human, much less a brand, yet striving to make our brand as regenerative as possible feels essential. We bring this mission to life by partnering with a select group of farmers to source the highest quality ingredients that are in alignment with our values and the standards we set. We use almost exclusively glass and recyclable materials for our packaging, alongside larger bottle options designed to minimize unnecessary waste. Our formulas are made in house, by skilled herbalists trained through my school -The School of the Sacred Wild. Most importantly, we listen to our community, crafting formulas tailored to the true needs of your skin, health.

BEAUTY ROUTINE ~
The first thing I do when I wake up is mist my face with our cooling and hydrating Sacred Rose Mist Toner. I then massage in a generous amount of Sacred Serum or Glow, wiping the rest on the tips of my hair. Since I have a teen, a baby and another one on the way, my mornings are full of getting the family ready for the day. I continue my morning routine while driving my daughter to school. That is when I reach for my Sacred Serum and my Gua Sha tool, treating myself to a mindful face massage in the car. I cherish this quiet ritual because it allows me to slow down, gently encourage lymphatic drainage and melt awayany tension or puffiness in my jaw, neck and shoulders.
When I am heading out for a day of teaching or meetings, I blend my Sacred Serum with a tinted sunscreen, finishing with a touch of mascara and blush-using only the purest and clean makeup brands. In the evening, I’ll cleanse with the Cosmic Cleanser. It”s our newest product and I love it so much! It is so light and refreshing. I”ll apply a generous amount all over my face and neck and wipe it off with a clean, wet face towel. It is amazing at dissolving makeup, sunscreen and grime. I then mist with the Sacred Rose Toner followed by Glow serum. I also take a bath every night and apply the Sacred Body Oil. The body oil has a special ingredient called Tamanu Oil,- a deeply nourishing and healing oil shown to have a healing effect on the nerves. I have been using it religiously on my belly in pregnancy and have no stretch marks. It features a rich blend of Vetiver, Vanilla, Palo Santo and Gardenia, for a deeply grounding, sensual and calming effect, a perfect way to unwind and drop back into the body.

INSPIRED BY~
CHRISTY DAWN -I am continually inspired by my friends and founders of Christy Dawn - a regenerative LA brand crafting beautiful organic cotton dresses. The CEO was a student of my herbalism school so watching her courageously guide the company through innovative risks and values-driven choices is especially inspiring. They went from repurposing dead stock fabric to leasing a dedicated farm in India for organic, regenerative cotton, complete with labels that show you the exact carbon footprint sequestered by your dress. It’s such and innovative idea, the line is gorgeous and you can feel the quality and care of the materials. https://christydawn.com/
SCHOOL OF THE SACRED WILD-
I am also really inspired by my community of students at The School of the Sacred Wild. Together, we spend ten months a year learning how to live regeneratively, practicing folk herbalism, growing gardens and gathering as a community from all over the world. Being connected to a group of people who love the Earth and want to create a more beautiful planet is an endless source of inspiration and strength. The Apprenticeship to the Sacred Wild starts in September and registration is open now. You don’t have to have any experience to join, and I want to welcome anyone called to learn more at: www.schoolofthesacredwild.com

UNDER THE STARS~
Nature also inspires me ~One of my favorite places to travel is Northern California. I love to go camping with my family and to unplug and spend time in nature, swimming in the gorgeous rivers and sleeping under the stars and the ancient trees. It restores me like nothing else. I get a lot of inspiration and spiritual connection by being in nature, spending time away from my phone and the hustle of being a business owner, teacher, and mother in LA.

LOCAL GUIDE ~ Topanga Canyon
I love Topanga Canyon for the hiking, community, nature and great shops ~
SHOPS -Moona Star is a collective of artisans, they have vintage collections, plant dyed dresses, pottery, candles and a great selection of beautiful gifts. I love Kinship station for jewelry, incredible art from all over the world, gifts and gorgeous clothes. It almost feels like a gallery –worth a visit, and you’ll find our entire line of Sacred Rituel products there too. https://moonastarcollective.com/

FOOD & VIBES -My favorite place for a matcha and breakfast is Topanga Living Cafe. They have a cute outdoor patio, great smoothies and delicious food. It’s a great place to hang out, work remotely or catch up with friends. https://www.topangalivingcafe.com/
My evening hang spots- Endless Color, a hip pizza place with natural wines, beer, live music and good people watching. I would be remiss not to mention Corazon Center for Performing Arts which is next door to Endless color and has some of the world’s best musicians perform. The space is intimate and perfect for beautiful nights of live music.
GET OUTSIDE -Topanga is full of amazing hikes, my favorites are Back Bone trail or Red Rock which is great for kids- it dead ends at a parking lot and then you can walk in on a flat, wide path and go explore caves and a seasonal creeks.. my kids love this hike.

BEATUY TONICS~
If you drink this Vitality Beauty tea daily for a month, I guarantee your skin will glow, your nails and hair will become stronger and you will feel so much more grounded, calm, nourished and energized. This tonic is based on the deeply nutritive and mineral rich wild weeds of Stinging Nettles and Cleavers, which have been used for centuries for beauty, women’s health, digestive health, nervous system health and more. This gentle but powerful blend has countless benefits. Daily use leads to the most incredible results and you can drink this no matter your age, gender, medications, etc.

1 Tablespoon dried organic Nettle Leaf
1 Tablespoon dried organic Cleavers Leaf
1 Tablespoon dried organic peppermint Leaf.
Cover the herbs with hot water from the kettle, infuse for 4 hours (this gets all of the minerals out), strain and drink 1 quart a  day for 30 days.

1 Tablespoon hibiscus
½ teaspoon rose petals (optional)
Let it steep for 20 min in hot water from the kettle. Let it cool, or refrigerate, or serve over ice. Sweeten if you wish with honey.
This is a very cooling tea that is high in vitamin C and antioxidants. It is great for women in menopause, for staying hydrated and cool in the hot summer and for maintaining energy and good digestion.

GROUNDING RITUALS~
I meditate while I drink my herbal teas almost daily. This is the primary practice I teach in the Apprenticeship to the Sacred Wild. It is a very somatic, feminine practice of tantric meditation and spiritual connection with the Earth through receiving actual nourishment and healing from ancient teas and herbs. We always journal after our plant spirit meditations and this allows for a time of connection to our hearts, the Earth and our intuition. This daily ritual offers me clarity through challenges and continuously refills my cup, giving me the capacity to mother, hold space for my community, and show up for my work. I also try to get outside as much as possible. If I can’t manage a full walk, I step barefoot into the garden just to water the plants and a few quiet moments. It is amazing how a quick grounding moment- feeling the Earth beneath you, listening to the sounds of nature and gazing at trees or flowers can ompletely quiet the mind and soothe the nervous system.
I take a daily evening bath which feels so essential to help me wind down and wash away the stress from my day. These days I am usually taking this bath with my toddler ,which is a sweet time for us to connect and relax at the same time. I find sleep hygiene to be so important. I never have any electronics in my bedroom, I usually keep the windows open at night to sleep in a cool room, and I sleep with an eye mask which helps me drop into a deeper sleep.

CURRENTLY DAYDREAMING ~
Currently I am daydreaming about sharing the most incredible cleansing face mask that I have been making for our team. It has incredible plants like Moringa, minerals like Clay, antioxidants like Rosemary, and other ingredients like Honey… you could eat it, it is so clean and what it does for the the skin is remarkable! I am also dreaming up a mineral sunscreen that does not leave a white cast,..which is challenging! Chemical sunscreen can be really bad for our hormones but the mineral sunscreens leave a pasty finish. So far, every product I have created has the highest standard of clean beauty certification and creating a sunscreen that meets that same standard is going to be a fun challenge as a formulator.
